We Kicked the Flix!

Hello there My Dear Reader!

I have exciting news!!! I have been a loyal subscriber to Netflix for the last NINE years but as of Friday June 13th, 2019 I AM FREE!!

Now, I do not know if you are a subscriber or not, but believe it or not, this has been a HUGE source of conflict for me… If you also subscribe to Netflix, I encourage you to do your own research and validate what I have to say about why I left them… But it does have to do with my journey of faith as I strive to grow closer in holiness to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ… Here’s what I mean…

I have recently begun to realize just how trashy some (if not most) of the programming is on Netflix, especially when it comes to their “umteen” number of original series (and it seems like new ones are being added every month). I was somewhat addicted to their series called Designated Survivor… However, after watching this last season of it (Season 3) I had to admit that I was less than impressed by its content. While still a riveting story, when I got to the end of the season I had to sit and think… “What am I thinking bringing this ‘trash’ into my home?! I’m certain that Jesus does not approve of this junk…” Not to mention, it seems like everything that could be called an “original series” by Netflix these days seems to contradict Christian teaching in some form or fashion… However, in the interest of loving movies and not wanting to be totally truthful to myself I ignored this for a long time… Because if I was totally truthful to myself, I knew what had to be done (and I didn’t want to have to face that)…

“Your eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is sound, your whole body is full of light; but when it is not sound, your body is full of darkness.

Luke 11:34

It’s almost as if I could no longer watch an original show or movie without some example of transgenderism, same-sex pro-abortion crap being shoved down my throat. After I finished the final episode of Designated Survivor’s last season, I thought to myself… “I’m DONE!”

Fairly recently (as of writing this post) I encountered the last straw for me regarding Netflix… I learned that Netflix has publicly threatened to pull out of those states which are passing pro-life laws (i.e. Georgia) which increase protections for the unborn. Not to mention, their Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos is quoted as saying about Georgia’s new pro-life law:
“We have many women working on productions in Georgia, whose rights, along with millions of others, will be severely restricted by this law. It’s why we will work with the ACLU and others to fight it in court. Given the legislation has not yet been implemented, we’ll continue to film there, while also supporting partners and artists who choose not to. Should it ever come into effect, we’d rethink our entire investment in Georgia.”

So what he’s said here is, that not only will Netflix openly support those who choose to support abortion, but that they’ll work to fight pro-life laws in court!! I read that and thought I was going to throw up… For the last nine years I’ve given this company quite a bit of my hard earned money, despite them jacking up the price every couple of years (for no reason)… and it turns out I was supporting a pro-abortion company the whole time and didn’t even know it…

So, my dear reader, if you, or someone you know, are a subscriber to Netflix… I encourage you and/or them to seriously consider dropping this digital pile of rotten filth… Pray about it… Because it is that serious. Human life should be taken seriously and the many enemies of the unborn (in this case Netflix), must be peacefully (and prayerfully) opposed at every opportunity…

There are other digital streaming platforms available. My favorite is called “PureFlix” which is full of wholesome family friendly TV shows and movies. They provide one month free at the beginning of the subscription period to let people try them out. I’ll put the link below if you want to check it out.

Please know that I do not think badly of anyone who watches or enjoys Netflix because there are good shows and movies on there, but once I learned the truth, there came a point where I had to make a choice between taking a stand for life and supporting those who support killing the unborn… May God’s blessings be upon you and your household…

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If any one loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides for ever.

1 John 2:15-17

Until Next Time My Dear Reader…

Your Humble Servant in Christ,

William

RoseMarie and I considering the same as you.

And how about Disney…here’s a company built on children’s programming but they are taking the same stance as Netflix. Walt Disney would not be proud.

    Good blog.

I completely agree if Disney takes that same stance… Unfortunately it comes down to love of money and pride…

William, Polly and I commend you on your strong stance. This beautiful world of ours is upside down. What use to be correct is now wrong and what use to be wrong is now correct. I could use a dose of Leave it to Beaver or Andy of Mayberry.God bless. Dcn. Charles
